Drawing Course
Lesson 19

.

.

It is best not to look at the paper whilst you draw. Try to concentrate only on the complex tangle of lines that cross each other.

.

.

You need to try and make your eyes slide along the lines at the same time as the pencil, changing direction at the same time.

Don't look over what you have drawn until you have finished. The exercise should take about five minutes.

The result, of course, does not look anything like a hand.

You should repeat this exercise as many times as you can. You can use this exercise with many other objects: a scrunched up piece of paper, a leaf, a lock of hair.
