In these introductory pages, I have chosen to display drawings of various 

teachers which clearly  show the variety of results with the simple use of lines and tones. On occassions the drawing is the initial approach, the simple sketch which will later develop  with other techniques.

Other times, as in these examples, drawing is a work of art.
