MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THE COURSE

I am going to detail the materials that you are going to need for this course.

Paper is essential. However, its texture, surface and grain can influence the end result.

Below you can see three different types of paper from thick to thin. Generally, thiner paper with a smooth surface is best for detailed drawings and when you want to practice using a quill.

Thicker paper generally has a light texture and is ideal for the majority of techniques, not only wet but also dry. If you use thick paper you will get interesting effects of broken discontinued textures. This paper is ideal for chalk, charcoal and pastels.

Apart from the abundant types of basic paper, you can also find a huge variety of card, homemade paper, etc.

The artist should choose from what is on offer thinking always about the effect he/she wants to achieve.
