LIGHTS
AND SHADOWS (2)-THE CAP
Once
we have created the lights, we have to move onto the shadows, in
order to make the figure gain volume.
To
obtain the shadows mix the base paint (German grey 830) with a amount
of black (950). Pour out a amount of this mixture into a plastic
container and add some water, so that the paint is quite diluted.
.
.
With
a brush get some of the really diluted paint and brush it into the
gaps and into the seams. At the start you will think that you are
darkening too much, but once the paint is dry you will see the effect
- you have gained depth.
.
.
Once
it has dried, go over the figure again with a soft dry brush with
the base tone lightened with white, in such a way that if in some
areas it is too dark we can easily lighten them up, the dry brush
gives the effect of lights.
