Lesson 3

.

CLEANING THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE FIGURE

With resin figures, the first thing you have to do is remove the rough edges left by the mould. We do this by getting some pliers, and with extreme care, as we can easily break the piece, cut off the rough edges.

.

.

Once we have finished, get a cutter and with extreme care (not only for the figure but also for our fingers) remove the rough edges left from the cast that we haven't been able to cut with the pliers.

.

.

With a nail file sand down the pieces that we haven't been about to remove with the cutter, consequently making the figure nice and smooth.

.

.

Finally, get the sand paper and sand down the figure until it is left perfectly, as if it had never been in a mould.

.

.

This process needs to be done using extreme care,, as I mentioned previously we
use sand paper and the mail file you need to use a face mask  as  we don't  want
to breathe in the dust from the resin.  To avoid problems, try  to do this  process
with the windows open or in the open air.
