Canvas is the most common surface used when working with oil paints.

Here we have a wooden frame which on which we are going to tighten the canvas, which can be linen (better quality) or cotton (cheaper and ordinary). This material is primed with glue or gesso.

There are canvases of all sizes and even different, less common shapes, round, oval, or square. They are light and easy to transport.
