2. What is aromatherapy?.

We could say that the starting point for Aromatherapy is Nature itself. We can capture the essence from flowers, herbs, plants or tree barks. It is considered a discipline in Natural Medicine.

It is based in a Holistic focus.
What is Holistic focus? It is when the person is considered as a whole: it brings into harmony the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual parts linking them as one.

Thus, the treatment isn't projected unto a specific illness. For positive and effective results, we must take into account every characteristic of the person.

3. Where do essential oils come from?

They are substances gotten from a biochemical process produced by plants; directly from secreting glands.

Oils found in plants change their chemical composition continuously and move from one place to another as the day runs by. As a result, oil extraction has its specific time and moment to optimise its harvest.

We must consider the most convenient moment during the day, the best season in the year as well as climate conditions.

Oils can be found in different parts of the plant: resin in myrrh, cinnamon from the bark, lavender in flowers.

It is said that the personality of the plant is revealed by its essence: there can not be two plant with the same scent.

The majority of essential oils are colourless. However, there are those known as absolute which stand out not only for their colour, but for their density.
