Zigzag Stitch and its variants

This Stitch is used for decoration. It is executed from right to left pulling the needle through the front side of the fabric taking the needle to the right tilted and upward. We insert the needle again, this time horizontally to the left leaving a space of several threads. Again, we insert the needle tilting it downward and to the right in the same spot in which we pulled the previous Stitch, running it to the left horizontally, leaving the same number of threads as in the previous stitch.

Zigzag Stitch Variants.

We embroider several parallel stitches, one next the the other. We can use the same colour of thread or different colours to achieve contrast.

Another variant of this Stitch is forming several parallel lines in a zigzag repeating them in an inverted manner. We can make one row or more depending on your taste. In this example, we have made 2 rows using gradient colours; from darker to lighter.
