Festoon Stitch and its variants (Continued)
Another variant of this stitch is the Height of Festoon stitches, making one, two, or three short stitches and an equal number of long stitches, repeating the stitch as many times as necessary.
Another variant is to embroider two Festoon stitches slanted to the left and two slanted to the right. In the space left between them, we make a straight Stitch whose height is greater than both stitches.
We can also vary this stitch making a row of open-double festoon row interchanging long spaces between one stitch and the next stitch alternating between them. Then, we make a second pass, preferably with a different coloured thread. We will make this second row larger in every space we left in the previous step.
