Palestrina Stitch.
This Stitch constitutes a very decorative raised Embroidery. It is used in fine and luxurious tasks. It is done from the top to bottom. We pull the needle through the front side of the fabric, we make a flat oblique Stitch going down to the right. Then, we make a horizontal stitch to the left. Then, we form two Festoon Stitches on the thread of the slanted stitch, without stitching the fabric on the background. Again, we make a tilted Stitch to the right and going down, and the horizontal Stitch as well. We pull the needle exactly under the previous Stitch. How slanted the Stitch is will depend on the shape of the design we want to embroider.
