In this photograph, I used a shutter speed of 1/10 while holding the camera myself. As you can see, there isn't any part of the image which is sharp.

In this photograph, I used a shutter speed of 1/125. Notice how this image is in focus and sharp. Every detail is visible. The background is a little out of focus (or blurry) because instead of using a diaphragm of f/22 (which renders a greater depth of field) as in the previous picture, I used a diaphragm of f/5.6 (renders less depth of field).

 

In spite of trying to avoid getting moved photographs, there are times in which we can choose to take a picture using a very low shutter speed for the photograph to come out completely moved. On the other hand, when we do this, we need to make sure that it is something obvious or noticeable. When people see the picture, they need to understand and notice right away it was taken on purpose, not a mistake.
