Intestinal parasites

We need to pay close attention to the intestine parasites of ours cats since they can be contagious to humans if we don't follow proper hygiene procedures. For example, children who touch the area of the anus of the animal and then bring that hand to their mouth have a high probability of infection.

Our cat can be infected through the faeces of other animals or through other vectors such as fleas. If our cat has fleas, they should be treated with internal anti-parasites also because this is another way they can be infected, as we mentioned previously.

When we adopt a cat and bring it home, the first thing we need to learn about it is whether or not it has internal parasites. For this, we need to take a faeces sample to the veterinary who, after performing tests, will be able to tell us which types of parasites are affecting our cat and what needs to be done.

In the case of adult cats, there are some tablets they can take every 3 months to prevent them from being infected with parasites. We can purchase them at some drugstores, pet shops, or at the veterinary clinic.

This is an example of faeces with parasites.
