We
are going to do another exercise which envolves creating various shading
tones. In the beginning these exercises are quite boring, as with all
new things that you learn, later you will be greatful that you have
carried out such exercises.
Using
a sketch book with medium grain paper, make squares of three to five
centimetres. In these squares we are going to create different grey
tones, from the darkest shade to the lightest shade. We can do this
with nine squares.
Here
I have started. The square that is furthest away is the darkest one,
when we get to the middle, hold the charcoal a little less and then
ease off a little more until you get to the last square.
In
the same way I have done this in the upper square.
In
the next photo you can see the nine squares, with the different shadings,
from the darkest to the lightest: it is useful to do this, although
quite tedious.
