PRIME NUMBERS AND COMPOUND NUMBERS
Prime numbers are those numbers that can only be divided by themselves or by 1.
Example: 2, 3, 11, ……. They don't admit other denominators but themselves and 1:
Numbers that admit other denominators besides themselves and one are called COMPOUND:

Number 6 admits as denominators, besides 6 and 1, the numbers 2 and 3:
3.16 We have the numbers 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Which are prime numbers and which are compound numbers?
Answer: Prime numbers: 3, 7 and 11
Compound: 4, 8, 9, 10 and 12 because:
4 can be divided by 2
8 can be divided by 2
9 can be divided by 3
10 can be divided by 2 and by 5
12 can be divided by 2 and by 3.
Besides, all of them can be divided by themselves and by 1.
