7. FAN DECORATION (2).
First we create a profile look. With this profile, what we try to do is make the picture look less flat and with some volume. We will take a lighter colour than the one we already applied to create highlights. In this case, I'm using ochre.
The contrast between green and ochre enhances the leaf.
The flower stems will also be ochre. It is very important not to load the brush with too much paint; it can leak and stain the piece. Paint shouldn't be too thinned because it could leak from the brush or run once we apply it to the fabric on the fan.
When we don't use an excessive amount of paint, the fan opens smoothly and correctly. If there is too much paint on the fabric, you might have problems opening or closing the fan.
