DSRL camera
In DSRL cameras built-in flash works much the same way. The difference is that we can use the camera to Manual and thus have better control over the flash.
We can change the speed, aperture, or ISO according to what we want to achieve.
We also have the EV function that will allow us to increase or decrease the amount of flash light that will illuminate particular scene. The EV DSRL cameras works like a compact camera.
In most of the chambers DSRL flash button is on the side (see box red). To activate the flash have to press the mark button like lightning.
When we press the flash fires or open. And only then we can use the flash.
This is a photo of a Nikon D90 and as you can see the same button used to activate the flash and to control the EV.
In this case I what I have to do is, once the flash is ready, I'll tighten the flash button again and while I have it tight, I can change the EV.
In this picture you can see the viewfinder of the D90. What we are saying is that I chose to take the picture using a flash EV + 1.
Anyway keep in mind that each house is different. It's good to inform themselves by reading the camera manual, how to activate or operate the flash of his camera.
