Possessive adjectives (l' adjectif possessif)


  • Possessive  adjectives  accompany  the  noun  and  they agree with  the noun in 
  •           both  gender  and number.  Look  at the following table and notice the different
             forms of  the adjective:

  • When you have a feminine noun which starts with a vowel or a "h", you use the masculine form of the possessive adjective:


  • Épée (f) Mon épée My sword
    Attention (f) Ton attention Your attention
    Attitude (f)  Son attitude  Her attitude


  • Lets look at some examples of possessive adjectives:


  • Ma voiture est grande My car is big
    Ta voiture est petite Your car is small
    Notre fille est haute  Our girl is tall
    Votre fils est maigre Your son is slim
    Leur chien est féroce Their dog is fierce
