Cinéma - Restaurant

Aujourd´hui, Caroline et moi avons décidé d´aller au cinéma, ensuite nous irons au restaurant.

Nous allons à la salle " Gaumond Parnasse " située à Montparnasse, tout prêt de la " Tour Montparnasse ". Ce quartier, tient son nom du fait que au XVII siècle les étudiants des beaux arts réalisaient leur travail sur un " Mont " de déchets. " Parnasse " vient du Mont Parnasse en Grèce. Mont dédié à la poésie, la musique et la beauté.

Dans les années vingt et trente, Hemingway, Picasso, Cocteau, Matisse, et Modigliani fréquentaient beaucoup ce quartier. La Tour Montparnasse, construite sur le site de l´ancienne " Gare Montparnasse ", est un édifice de verre et d´acier. Renfermant des bureaux.

Nous avons choisit de voir " The Island ". En France les films sortent avec le titre original. On peut les voir en français ou en VO sous-titré en français.

Après le film nous irons au restaurant. Pas plus tard que 9:00 bien sûr. Nous n´irons pas dans un " Pizza hut " ou un " MacDonald ". Nous irons dans un restaurant français, son nom " L´O à la bouche ".

En France, on prend un apéritif ensuite il y a :

Un hors d´œuvre:

- Soupe de poissons

- ou Salade frisée aux lardons

- ou Omelette aux fines herbes

- ou Crudités

- ou Cuisses de grenouilles

Plat principal:

Poissons : Soles Meunière Coquilles St. Jacques Matelote d´anguilles et de carpe

Viandes : Hachis Parmentier Noisettes d´agneau Magret de Canard Coq au vin Pintade rôtie garnie Ris de veau

Ensuite Fromage français et puis le Dessert:

- Tarte aux Myrtilles

- Pêche Melba

- Crème Caramel

- Ile flottante

- Dame Blanche

- Crêpes flambées

Cinema - Restaurant

Today, Caroline and I have decided to go to the cinema, afterwards we will go to a restaurant.

We are going to the "Gaumond Páranse" situated in Montparnasse, close to the "Montparnasse Tower". The neighbourhood got its name because in the XVII century, Art students carried out their work on a "Mountain" of waste. "Parnase" comes from Monta Parnase in Greece. Monte dedicated to poetry, music and beauty.

In the 20's and 30's, Hemingway, Picasso, Cocteau, Matisse, and Modigliani could often be found in this neighbourhood. Montparnasse tower, constructed on the old "Gare Montparnasse ", is a glass and iron building which houses offices.

We have choosen to see "The Island". In France, films have their original title. You can see them in French or in Original Version with subtitles in French.

After the film, we will go to a restaurant. No later than 9:00. We won't go to a " Pizza hut " or a " MacDonalds ". We will go to a French restaurant called " L´O à la bouche".

In France, they have an aperitive and then:

Starters:

- Fish soup

- or Bacon salad

- or French omelette with fine herbs

- or a selection of fresh vegetables

- or frogs legs

Main Course:

Fish: Sole or carp

Meat: minced beef with mash potato. Lamb. Duck. Chicken in red wine. Roasted guineafowl with garnish. Beef sweetbread.

Then, French cheese and then dessert:

- Cranberry cake

- Peach Melba

- Creme caramel

- Floating island

- White Dame

- Crepes
