My host family live in
Saint-Denis which is north of Paris, 9km north of Notre-Dame. It is a
university town and it houses the University of Paris 8. It is at this
university that I will have my lessons to improve my French.
In Saint-Denis, you can
also find the famous " Stade de France " (80.000 seats) opened the 28th
January 1998. It has witnessed the tournement of the five nations and
it has also witnessed 9 games of the Football World Cup which took
place in June and July 1998.
Saint-Denis also has a
small neighbourhood which is called " La petite Espagne " (The small
Spain) with its Home: it is the Cristino García
nieghbourhood, a place created in 1926 with the support of the king of
Spain.
The Basilica of
Saint-Denis is a historical place which you have to visit because it is
the "Nécropole des rois de France " (Necropolis of the Kings
of France).
For mi, Saint-Denis is
an ideal place becuase I can get to Paris on the metro Line 13. And
from there I can catch a train to visit France.
