Separable Verbs
Many verbs that have a prefix before the root are separable:
Einladen |

Anfangen |
To begin |
Anrufen |
To call |
In a sentence, these prefixes can be separated from the verb and can be placed at the end of the sentence:
Ich lade meinen Freund ein |
I invite my friend |
Er fängt mit der Arbeit an |
He starts the job |
Mein Bruder ruft mich an |
My brother calls me |
Some verbs have prefixes that can not be separated from the root. Normally if the prefix isnt accentuated then is can not be separated from the root. If however the prefix is accentuated then it can be separated:

When the separable verbs are used to form the participle, they usually add the prefix "ge-" which is placed between the prefix of the verb and the root. Here are some examples:
