Uses of the Accusative
The accusative is also called Wenfall because it answers the question Wen oder was? (Who?/What?)
Er ruft deinen Sohn. |

Ich sehe ein kleines Schiff. |

a) Indirect objects
Die Mutter ruft die Kinder. |
The mother calls her children. |
b) After certain verbs
After the verbs nennen / schelten / schimpfen / heißen / halten.
Ich nenne Dich einen Lügner. |
I call you a lier |

Ich halte euch für Verbrecher. |
I consider you a criminal. |
c) Appositions of an accusative also goes in the accusative
Wir sahen den Löwen, den König der Tiere. |
We saw a lion, the king of animals. |
d) Adverbials
Wir haben uns den ganzen Tag gelangweilt. |
We were bored all day |
