The
Schulz family have a big farm in Baviera. But Mrs
and Mr Schulz are not from a family of farm workers.
Both of them studied in Munich and they met each other
at university. When their children were small they
decided to move to the countryside and work with ecologic
agriculture.
They
have a lot of animals, especially cows, pigs, chickens
and geese. All of the animals can move freely and
they eat ecological food. On the farm, they have a
small lake where they breed trouts. The Schulz family
also grow ecological fruit and vegetables. They provide
their fruit and vegetables to many restaurants in
the area nad they sell their produce at various local
markets.
They
have one son and two daughters. One of the daughters
helps out on the farm, the other studies in the USA.
The son has a restaurant in Munich.
But
the Schulz don't just work in the agriculture buisiness.
On the farm, they have 4 apartments that they rent
out to tourists. In the summer, these apartments are
always full. This is when German or foreign tourists
come to go for walks or go on bike rides. Preferably
families come with small children because for children
from the city it is very interesting to go on a real
farm.
