Panels or toolboxes

For better performance, programs like gimp allow us to have panels or toolboxes available with common tools to make our work easier.

So we have a panel or toolbox readily available at any given point.

From here, we can access any tool. Since this panel is composed by 2 parts, the lower part will show you the options of a specific tool after you select it and then configure its use.

The other panel also has 2 parts. One part has several tabs to access specific functions.

The first part, or upper part, has 4 Tabs, Layers, channels, paths and Undo History.

We will see them in later lessons.

On the lower part, we have the options of Brushes, Patterns and Gradient.

These functions respond to the tools found on this layer. They appear by default due to their frequent use or the possibility or configuring them in this panel.

However, if we press the triangle (red circle), we will open up a menu with several options. One of these options is Add Tab. This option opens all the functions and tools for adding tabs.
