Lesson 51 ª

Hue and Saturation

Similar to the previous lesson, the Hue - Saturation function changes the existing original colours in the picture by using the scroll buttons for the different colours.

Pay close attention to this general concept of colours. With this function, we will see the entire colour spectrum ranging from primary colours to complementary.

If we pay attention to the boxes corresponding to each colour, each will change depending on the direction we move the scroll button to.

We can see this clearly in the case of the cup (yellow) the girl is holding. As we move the scroll buttons, we can see the change in the box as well.

This application, along with the saturation and lightness controls, are quite useful in photographs which have a dominant colour, since this colour influences the rest without exception.

Such is the case of this picture of a model airplane.
