DEBATES FOR OR AGAINST
OBJECTIVE.-
To obtain deep and documented opinions.
MATERIALS
NEEDED: Nothing
AGE-
13 years and above
HOW TO
DEVELOP THE TASK - The presenter should divide the group into small
groups. Each small group will be given a different role to carry out according
to the topic (for/against a certain topic). The members will be given 10
minutes to get together and adopt the role given to them. The group will then
have to defend their point of view.
VARIANTS- Any
topic which people can agree or disagree with.l
THINGS TO
CONSIDER - Even if the group doesn't agree with the position that they
have been given, they have to defend it to the rest of the group. Try and use
topics that worry society, like racism, terrorism, violence in sports.... The
presenter will control the length of the debate.
