The sparkle in her eyes that have the shape of a star are done with a type of brush with that effect.
I add details to the hair, dark lines in the shadow so it doesn't look too flat, and some sparkles where light is supposed to hit her body.
On the book with the cat on the cover, I draw some stars with the same brush I used above.
