Lips

There are different types and presentations of lip products. We need to know which they are to learn properly:

  • Lip balm (or lip salve): widely used by the youth; they basically hydrate.
  • Marker lipstick: they have a dry texture; they are ideal to bring out the natural colour of your lips.
  • Lip gloss: they humidify and give a nice smooth sensation and look.
  • Gel lipstick: these are very similar to lip glosses; besides the gloss, they grant interesting colours.
  • Lipstick pencil: these have a more extensive use. They are highly convenient since they present a creamy consistency, hydrate, last longer, are easy to apply and we can carry them with us in case we need to touch up. On the other hand, this presentation has the widest colour variety.

Colours and textures

Without a doubt, it is also important to consider the right choice of texture and colour.

  • A creamy texture doesn't grant much gloss (shine) nor hydration. However, it is ideal to add volume.
  • Matte toned lipsticks aren't glossy, but last longer.
  • Pearl tones have a moderate gloss and highlight our lips; they are ideal for celebrations.
  • Bright tones, besides providing gloss, bring our lips out effectively. They give a smooth and fresh look. They are ideal for thin lips.

We can use long-lasting lipsticks in any tone and texture.

Form of application

When applying lipstick, it is advisable for us to use a brush or an applicator. We must apply from the centre out; first, the lower lip and then the upper one.

It is not necessary for you to use the applicator many times. The best way is to apply light coats since this allows us to be more precise.

Done! This is the way of achieving perfect lips.

Tip: you can also combine and superimpose different lipstick tones to achieve your ideal colour.
