Tensing the paper
To paint, the first step is tensing the paper. We do this to avoid the paper from curling up or wrinkle when we apply water to it. Paper dilates when it is wet.
First, with a cutter or scissors, we cut the paper to a desired length.
Then, with a soggy sponge, we wet the paper.
The paper, when wet, will expand. We place it over a board.
