THE
SUNFLOWER: THE PETALS
On the
palette make a few yellow tones to use on the petals. We will paint
some with white and some with yellow, as you can see in the photo.
We will
paint others with yellow and earthy transparent pink.
With the
pure yellow we will draw a line on top of the charcoal, taking advantage
of the charcoal to dye the yellow. Clean the brush and put some of
the mixture of yellow and white on to the brush. With long strokes
we will paint the petals.
What we
have done with this one petal can now be done with the others, one
at a time, as you can see with the first two that I have done, or
even all at the same time with a greeny yellow (green & yellow)
creating shadow on all of the petals on one side.
