6. WAY TO PRESERVE ESSENTIAL OILS.
With this type of substances, the proper preservation of these oils is extremely important.
In order to preserve oils properly and avoid defects which would render them useless, we must store them is glass bottles or vials. Plastic bottles or vials should never be used since they damage oils with toxic chemical substances.
These glass vials should come in a dark colour. This prevents light from getting in and affecting the content.
Oils must be kept is a fresh and dark place. As we mentioned before, light can damage and alter oil components. Oils should be kept fresh because they are flammable.
A well kept oil can last up to six months.
For the vial to be properly closed, we recommend a screw top or even a cork.
If our vial is not closed tightly, our essence will evaporate easily. If proper measures are not taken, the oil will dilute slowly. Moreover, if it comes in contact with air, its basic properties would be modified.
