Lesson 20 ª

FLY STITCH.

This is a highly raised Stitch and it is executed with passed stitches which are tightened to one another. This is the way we do it:

With a taylor's crayon, we mark the borders of a triangle, which will be the base to embroider this type of Stitch.

Executing the Stitch: we pull the needle through the left angle upward. We make a small stitch going through the vertex of the triangle from right to left. Then, we direct the strand downward to the right side of the triangle. Here, we insert the needle and we pull it through the left side of the triangle. Again, we direct the strand upward. We make another stitch through the vertex of the triangle and we direct the strand downward to the right, inserting the needle and pulling it on the left side of the triangle. We continue embroidering in the same way until we cover the triangle with a series of passed and crossed stitches.
