As
with the whole world, in Germany, New Year's Eve
is an important party. Unlike Christmas, New Year's
Eve is not a family party. The majority of Germans
do not celebrate this party with their family members,
they celebrate it with their friends.
There
are many parties, fireworks and firecrackers. The
teenagers set off firecrackers a few days before
even though it is officially banned. The fireworks
are only allowed on New Year's Eve.
Brigitte,
Anne, Stefan and Peter are sat in a Cafe and they
are talking about what they could do on New Year's
Eve.
A:
What are we going to do on New Year's Eve?
B:
We could organise a party.
A:
I want to go to an elegant party. Small parties
seem too boring.
S:
I want some big fireworks.
B
Oh no! I'm afraid of fireworks.
S:
I don't want to give up the fireworks.
B:
Nobody has to give anything up. We'll have to get
to the party before they begin.
A:
I agree with everything but it has to be an elegant
party. I have already bought a silver sequined dress.
I want to wear it at all costs.
B:
You are so quiet Martin. Why don't you say anything?
M:
Everything sounds good to me.
