Depth of focus

This photo also was made some years ago with black and white film Kodak Tmax 3200. Use interior light window and I wanted to accomplish was a simple but moving image.

I used a macro 105mm fixed lens. It's a great lens for portraits because you can focus at a distance less than you could focus a macro lens is not. That's why the picture is only part of the face.

The macro lenses are lenses that just are used to remove elements or people closely. General lenses have a distance at which I do I can zoom in and focus. The macro lens lets you zoom in closer. This means that your object will be able to be bigger or occupy a larger portion of the frame. Are widely used for nature (insects for example) and kids products.

Returning to the photo. As was inside a room full of different types of items, I decided to use a wide open aperture (f / 2) so that the bottom was out of focus. Using a 105mm lens (short telephoto) and closer to the model also helped that there was little depth of focus.

In fact the background is so unfocused that it is impossible to know where the picture was taken. It may have been made inside or outside, in the city or countryside.
