16. METHODS FOR POTPOURRI ELABORATION.

As we mentioned in lesson 19, there are two method for elaborating potpourris: the dry and wet methods.

Up next, I will present this comparative chart for both methods. There are few differences between them.

Place them on a single layer over a metal mesh.

Place the mesh in a dark but ventilated place.

Allow 2 days for drying.

Transfer them to a glass or clay vial with a lid.

Place them in a well sealed vial and mix them immediately with fixatives and essential oils.

Alternate the plant with layers of non-iodized kosher salt; leaves and flowers should predominate.

The potpourri will be ready in a month.

Eventually, add a fixative but reduce the kosher salt.

 

 

Allow the plants to enfleurage.

Add a fixative and one or two spices.
