The
eraser and cloths are essential, not only for their everyday use (erase
and clean) but because with them we can blurr and obtain lights.
The
cloth, can be used in big areas such as the background or the sky,
however it is not very useful to lighten surfaces like these. Nevertheless,
this can be done by making a small ball with the cloth (small amount
of cloth put into a different piece of cloth) as you can see in the
next photo.
There
are a range of erasers:
-
Malleable . Very soft . We can mold them as if they were plasticine
and this way we can reach all zones and extract the charcoal from
the paper so that it gets back to being white.
-
Normal. If we cut them with a cutter we can make very fine erasers.
This is recommended more so for graphite than for charcoal.
-
Rubber-pencil. This is a pencil which instead of having a charcoal
lead is a rubber. Shaping the point can get us a very fine rubber
(to achieve lights in very fine areas).
Here
you can see how to use the malleable eraser to erase.
