SAVING
TIME AS A TOURIST (III).
Shopping
One
actvity that most human beings enjoy is "shopping". Therefore, if you
are planning to go shopping, before you go, read the list of shops that
are at the shopping centre where you are going. Try and work out which
ones you would like to go to.
Go
to a Shopping Center during the week, as at the weekend they tend to be
very busy. If you don't have the option of going during the week, then
try to go early in the morning, when less people are out shopping. You
will find the queus shorter.
EATING
OUT
Always call beforehand and
reserve a table at the restaurant. When you call, you should specify
your culinary and logistic requirements (if you need a special child's
chair, table for 5 or ten people, etc).
Always take sandwiches,
biscuits or some type of food with you just in case the service is slow
in the restaurant. This will help people from starving and getting in a
bad mood.
Once you have got the menu,
try to order the drinks and food at the same time. This will help speed
up the service and you and your family will eat sooner.
Holidays
When your holiday is coming to
an end, make sure that you have everything with you before returning
home e.g. clothes, souvenirs, etc. Often, when you rush to do something
last minute, you forget things. Then when you get home you realise that
you have left something behind e.g. souvenir for the boss, special
bottle of wine for my partner, etc. Therefore two days before you are
due to return, make a list of things you need to remember and start
packing your suitcase.
To conclude, I would like to
advise you that before organizing a trip, you should contemplate all of
your options and try to programme everything so that when you get to
your holiday destination you don't waste time looking for information.
However, when you get to your holiday destination you can walk to the
tourist office to find out if there is an important event on.
You should reserve tickets and
tours in advance. You should do the same with the hotel or hostal:
always reserve on the phone or on the Internet a month or 2 weeks in
advance. You should also confirm your reservation before you arrive. If
you follow this advice, you won't come up against any nasty surprises
and your trip will go to plan.
