5.-
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE GROUP - INTEGRATION OF THE COORDINATOR
It
may seem obvious and unnecessary, but it is essential that the
coordinator acts as the head of the GROUP, and that the group conforms.
The coordinator should use his experience to improve the funcioning of
the GROUP, as he will see himself reflected in the members, given that
he will have once been in their situation. That's to say, he will have
been a student and now he is the teacher, or he will have been a member
of the GROUP (without the responsabitily of being the co-ordinator) but
today he has this role.
Often
the coordinaator does not participate in the activities and he lets the
rest of the group members participate. MISTAKE. He should be part of
the group: in a game, activity, workshop, during informal
conversations, etc. This way, he can get closer to the rest of the
members, which will in turn reinforce his relationships and trust in
the GROUP, which will in turn help achieve proposed objectives.
6.-CHARACTERISTICS
OF THE GROUP - COMMUNICATION
A
new fundamental aspect for the development of the GROUP is
communication, not only verbal but also with gestures. Effective
communication helps people create new relationships.
Effective
communication is a sign of a compact, integrated group where a good
atmosphere is important and where every member assumer the role of
perfection. This way, objectives won't be opposed, they will be the
result of everyone's participation, which helps motivate the group to
fulfill the objectives. The same happens when establishing behevioural
rules and resolving conflicts, when communication acts as a means to
reach a happy ending.
It
is important that the communication within the group is pleasant, that
people feel confortable, satisfied and integrated into the group when
carrying out activities.
